Sartoria da Gigino was born in the 1950s on the island of Capri. These were the years of full excitement and desire to return to travel after the Second World War. In fact, during the summer the island was assiduously frequented by international stars and important political figures.
This small tailor's shop soon became famous for its Caprese-style tailored trousers and strictly tailor-made shirts.
Gigino and his wife Marialuisa, both skilled tailors, used only fine materials, tailoring timeless garments to perfection. Today the ancient Caprese tailoring tradition is carried forward thanks to his sons Michele and Augusto who have reinterpreted the solid family brand in a modern key by renaming the boutique with the name of Laboratorio Capri.
Capri trousers, elegant silk caftans, 60s style dresses, woven basket bags, are the most loved garments and accessories of this shop which creates each collection in its own Capri tailoring shop over 50 years later under the supervision of the "masters" tailors Gigino and Marialuisa.
